Art.2 - Qualifications: Contestants can present their competition works in one of the following categories: Student or Professional: 1) Student category includes students and graduates of high schools, secondary school students and professional school students and graduates. 2) Professional category includes all contestants who certified fashion designers or those who, although not in possession of a diploma in fashion design, work as fashion designers for their own or other fashion companies. Student and Professional categories are assessed independently, competition works are presented separately. Art.3 - Nominations : The contest includes 2 stages semifinal and final. Semifinal is a defile on the professional catwalk, final consists of verbal presentation of the collection to the members of the jury and a defile. This is his definition of the topic of the contest: Graduate Fashion Week International is a project which has been long in the academic circles and artistic high schools . There was a need in a project which could help Russian and foreign universities to exchange their expertise, knowledge and know-how in education, art design and public communications. Students must not only have modern theoretical knowledge ( which cannot be developed without a dialogue) they should also acquire practical experience and should be prepared for real work in fashion industry after graduating from the university. We believe that our Assembly is the event that will give the much-needed momentum to the creative potential and innovations in education, science and fashion in broader sense. Topic Innovations for Discussion Art.1 - Professional categories of the participants: - high Universities, Colleges and Schools; - professional schools; - secondary and specialized schools; - fashion school can only be presented in one of these categories. Fashion and Art school presentation can be in the form of exposition, defile or installation biennale. Artworks of Fashion Schools can be presented in one or several types of presentations. Art.2 Nominations (Defile, Expositions, Installations) a) Defile: A professional catwalk with a scene backstage with hangers and professional models (15 persons) prepared by stylists is provided for the presentation of a Fashion school in the form of defile. Fashion schools may use their own models. Total duration of each show is up to 15 minutes. Each show is decorated by a brand label with the name of the Fashion school. Defile participants may work out themselves the scenario of their show which can include in addition to defile: a) greeting of the head of the delegation b) presentation video about the school (in the beginning of the show) c) sound and light installations during the show Each performance must be a kind of short play, including all kinds of artistic activities (staging, choreography, sound and light effects, special effects (without any flammable substances!), presentations on the computer display before and during the show). b) Exposition: Fashion school is provided with an equipped stand (at least 4 square meters). On the frieze of the stand there will be an inscription of the Fashion school. Contestants make decorations for their stand themselves. Exposition lasts for 3 days. On the preliminary application the committee provides the school with extra equipment for full placement of the exposition and makes copies of the information materials about this fashion school. If possible Fashion schools should submit to the committee a presentation film (DVD or VHS) up to 3 minutes long about creative and scientific potential of the school. The film will be presented on the gala show before the awards show. Extracts from the film will be used in TV version of the Graduate Fashion Week. c) Installation For this type of the show of the Fashion School the committee provides an exposition space for setting up a multiprofile and multilevel construction-installation. Equipment (ventilators motors gas generators etc) should be brought by contestant himself on preliminary accord with committee as for the technical characteristics and fire security of this equipment. Duration of the Installation-biennale 3 days.
